Ok I have a Kimber Custom 2 and my wife just bought me a Kimber Crimson Carry Ultra and I have been seeing in the kimber store that their are 2 seperate sections for their magazines so my question is, is their any difference between my custom 2 magazines and crimson carry ultra magazine or are they interchangeable.

I think the ultra mags are officer size, 6 round. Which means they are shorter The custom 2 should have full size mags, 7 or 8 round. You could just try it and see if they work. I'm sure some one will answer this who has one.

they ARE different

All kimber ultra models have a shorter grip therefore have shorter mags too. i used to have a full sized frame pro carry 2 and the mags would fit into the ultra but the ultra mags would NOT fit into mine.

put the mags side by side and youll see one is shorter.

For the O.P. the Standard length mags will work in either gun, but the shorter magazines for the Officers size frame will NOT work in a Standard size
frame. NOte the standard length mags will stick out of the bottom of the Officers model frame.

Wilson Combat makes a 7 round magazine for the Officers size frame that
has the same style extended base with a shape forward for the little finger to
gain greater purchase. I use the Wilson COmbat ETM mags for my full size 1911.

I know alot of guys swear by the Wilson mags, I have em too and they're good mags. I prefer the Kimpro Tac Mags though. Wilsons have the plastic follower that can go kaput after a while.

Thanks guys this really helped my delima next time i get to go home to texas i will check the sizes and buy some more mags and tell yall how the crimson carry shoots. It will be her first time to the range.
