I was examining an older Colt GM that I just picked up, and it looks as though the thumb safety over-extends in the off position... not so much that the safety plunger is in danger of overriding the detent in the thumb safety, but it is noticeable.
Would this only be due to a weak plunger spring? The plunger spring is weak, I can tell. Is this a cause for concern, and what else might be causing the over-extension?
