and it was a pleasure to meet 4 young men who are serving in today's military and a civilian friend of theirs. they all had training with the M9 and m16 so it was interesting how they handled 'civilian' guns: a S&W 66, Vaquero 45 Colt, Kimber Gold Match 45acp. no surprise they aced the test--working as a team it was a free-for-all.

the friend had lots of rifle experience. all shot amazingly well. safety and gun handling was superb. accuracy was great--all took to the 1911 and preferred it to the m9. my thoughts are with them as they serve our country and i trust to see them at some future IDPA matches. than it dawns on me that in their uniform it is not a match they are engaged in.

it is their reality.

Im glad it went so well.
I will be taking my CCW on the 16 of this month. Cant wait.

Hope the rest of the year is equally as good for you

That makes me happy I live in Ohio, where serving military are exempt from the need to take a concealed carry class to get their license, they just have to put in the application listing their military service as proof of firearm activity. Funny isn't it, the collective bozos in our statehouse actually think these great guys and girls serving our country might just be able to shoot and hit what they aim at? And here we thought they were idiots. But then again, they also put an issue on the ballot last November to fund a bonus for any service member who served during the current war, whether they served in country or not.

Maybe I need to cut our legislators some slack?
