I have a Leupold VX-II 2-7x33 with the Long Range duplex reticle and a VX-II 1-4x20 with the standard duplex. I want to put one scope on my RRA predator pursuit .223 rifle for coyotes/varmints and one one my Ruger No.1 .30-06 for whitetails. The vast majority of hunting with both rifles will be in GA where shots over 200 yds are rare.

I originally was going to put the 2-7x33 on the coyote rifle and the 1-4x20 on the No. 1. The more I think about it the more I can't decide. I know I could try out each one on each rifle but when I get home I will have limited time to mount the scopes and gt them sighted in before I use them so I want to get it right the first time. Which one on which??

Ditto to original plan.

You might be able to use more magnification for the smaller target area varmit hunting w/ the .223, the No.1 with the slim 20mm objective ought to stay handy and 4x is plenty (I run around with mine at 2.5x or 3x) for deer out to 200 or more.
