I just realized what this thread was about.. A couple observations:

Don't fear "losing momentum" or the size of the bill. The details take time and a little patience but I don't think people here are going to just lose interest because a few days have passed without a post.

There's a need for an ad or flyer that describes the project, its purpose, and how to contribute. Take a stack of copies to your gun shop, range, wherever. Many would be happy to help.

Is the purpose to unite to gun owners or to "make Teddy drop his drink?" One would like to do both, but perhaps it's best to prioritize.

The real reason I'm posting is that while I like the USA Today idea it occurred to me that considerable visibility might be obtained by using the "Pennysaver" newspaper insert and similar outlets. How many local Pennysaver ads could be purchased for $65,000? Who will read those ads vs the USA Today ad?

Media sources often provide information for prospective advertisers about their demographics. For USA Today there is some information at http://www.usatoday.com/media_kit/usatoday/au_audience_home.htm.

Do consider working with an existing foundation. Even though they will have costs that need to be covered, it could still be more cost effective than setting up a new nonprofit.

I'll contribute what I can, when there's a way to do it.

Sage,

Thanks for the screen-shot. No toes were stepped on. If I knew how to do it, I'd post my own screen-shots to save a step.
