I particularly liked this bit...

They are also incorrect----there is no 2 day waiting period to buy a handgun-----there is a state pistol card---which is good for 3 years---once you have that----and you have to have that----you just put your money down---fill out the Fed's form ---and you're on your way.

They say CCW is illegal here in Missouri. (kind of)

Missouri - A new state law forces law enforcement to issue permits to carry concealed handguns (CCW) to anyone who can legally buy a gun and has minimal "training," but the law has been blocked pending a decision by the State Supreme Court. The law allows people to carry loaded, hidden handguns in cars and into restaurants, playgrounds, parks, shopping malls, etc. In 2000, Missouri voters rejected a gun lobby ballot initiative for concealed handguns, but the legislature passed it anyway. The law has been challenged as unconstitutional and the appeal is pending in the Missouri Supreme Court. Until resolved, it remains illegal to carry concealed handguns in Missouri.

They further state that it's illegal to carry in Missouri schools.

Missouri - State law restricts carrying firearms on school grounds, except for law enforcement personnel.

While schools remain on the list of places we're not supposed to carry, there's next to no legal clout backing it up. Basicly, if they catch you carrying, they can request that you leave. If you refuse, and they summon a peace ossifer to the premises, he can cite you for trespassing. Big woo Concealed means concealed, folks.

Of course, IANAL, and all that jazz. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anywho, we deserve at least an F. Maybe even a G or so.

Scout26- the only training is a 4 hour class, prints, and a background check.
I would think that's worth an F- at least!

Hooray! While Indiana only rates a "D" overall (need to work on making it easier for non-criminal kids to get guns), our "CCW" (Permit to carry handgun) rules get an F-! Read it and weep -- it's not "Vermont Carry" but it's pretty good!

Is it nice in the summer? I figure in the winter I could have a room in my house filled with firewood so that I would never have to leave until spring. Who am I kidding? The only way I could afford to move there is if I pulled a "Ocean's Eleven". I don't know any good con men however.:banghead:

Yea.. even though we got an A-, it really doesnt bother me THAT much. Most gun laws here are inconveniences.. 10 day wait, 1 gun a month, handgun safety certificates, etc.

Nothing's stopping me from going to the gun shop down the street right now and buying 50 SKS's.. other than the fact that the shop probably doesnt have 50 SKS's to sell.

The worst thing we have here is the AW Ban which I dont think will ever go away so there's no use in crying about it anymore. CCWs are hard to get, but arent completely impossible depending on the county.
