As cosine posted above, Wisconsin got a C+. One nasty component that drives this state's score toward the Brady goal, as most of you know, is:
Carrying Concealed Weapons Law A+ PROHIBITED
stevelyn,
My condolences to you folks unfortunate enough not to have gained any ground in the socialist cesspools you're living in.
Thank you.

F>>>>>>>>>>>PLUS

Proud to be a ccw carrier from florida...rated F plus....remember drink....drive....and kill the bad guy responsibly..........

I wonder if we (Florida) could loose our "+" if we could get open carry? Imagine that, open carry and our "shoot first law." I can hear the gun-grabbers crying already.

Haha I would go out and buy a cowboy hat to complete my wild west outfit. Or maybe a mexican bandit hat.

The F+ is nice but...

I particularly liked this bit...
No state restriction on the sale or possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons like the AK47 and Uzi. Assault weapons are as easy to buy as hunting rifles. No restriction on the sale or possession of rapid-fire ammunition magazines that can fire up to 100 bullets without reloading.

Ahhhh, Idaho, I'm off to buy an Uzi! :D

A-

California. Hmm...I didn't know we were THAT bad. Now I'm depressed. I'm gonna go look at pictures of guns online while that's still legal here.

That whole site is unbelievable---NE got B something---too lazy and disinterested to go back and check.

They are also incorrect----there is no 2 day waiting period to buy a handgun-----there is a state pistol card---which is good for 3 years---once you have that----and you have to have that----you just put your money down---fill out the Fed's form ---and you're on your way.

Hey, I want one of those! A magazine that can rapid-fire without a gun attached? Perfect!

Bah. Brady needs to do some fact checking.

They say CCW is illegal here in Missouri. (kind of)

The Brady Loonies said:
Missouri - A new state law forces law enforcement to issue permits to carry concealed handguns (CCW) to anyone who can legally buy a gun and has minimal "training," but the law has been blocked pending a decision by the State Supreme Court. The law allows people to carry loaded, hidden handguns in cars and into restaurants, playgrounds, parks, shopping malls, etc. In 2000, Missouri voters rejected a gun lobby ballot initiative for concealed handguns, but the legislature passed it anyway. The law has been challenged as unconstitutional and the appeal is pending in the Missouri Supreme Court. Until resolved, it remains illegal to carry concealed handguns in Missouri.
(emphasis mine)

They further state that it's illegal to carry in Missouri schools.

Some anti-gun nutjob said:
SCHOOL ZONES
Is it illegal for CCW permit holders to carry guns into schools? Yes

Missouri - State law restricts carrying firearms on school grounds, except for law enforcement personnel.

While schools remain on the list of places we're not supposed to carry, there's next to no legal clout backing it up. Basicly, if they catch you carrying, they can request that you leave. If you refuse, and they summon a peace ossifer to the premises, he can cite you for trespassing. Big woo:neener: Concealed means concealed, folks.

Of course, IANAL, and all that jazz. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anywho, we deserve at least an F. Maybe even a G or so.

I love Wyoming; never been so proud of an F in my life.

Scout26- the only training is a 4 hour class, prints, and a background check.
I would think that's worth an F- at least!

V4Vendetta - Those photos are beautiful, but they are the Grand Teton
National Park, no firearms permitted. Course what they don't know, won't
hurt them! And the rest of Wyoming is just as beautiful.

Y'all move here soon as you can. We love gunnies. Just leave any socialist attitudes at the border.:)

Jack

"And the rest of Wyoming is just as beautiful."

Are you being honest? :scrutiny: If all of Wyoming looks like that, why is anybody living anywhere else?:scrutiny: :uhoh:

"V4Vendetta - Those photos are beautiful, but they are the Grand Teton
National Park, no firearms permitted."

A park that big can't be policed. I could just get a tent, sleeping bag, fishing pole & gun for bear attacks and move around alot. They'd never find me.:)

Because it gets a mite chilly here in the winter! Right now it's -10F.
Keeps out the riff raff. You gotta want to live here real bad.:)

Jack

Hooray! While Indiana only rates a "D" overall (need to work on making it easier for non-criminal kids to get guns), our "CCW" (Permit to carry handgun) rules get an F-! Read it and weep -- it's not "Vermont Carry" but it's pretty good!

Is it nice in the summer? I figure in the winter I could have a room in my house filled with firewood so that I would never have to leave until spring. Who am I kidding? The only way I could afford to move there is if I pulled a "Ocean's Eleven".:( I don't know any good con men however.:banghead:

I'm gonna go to my room & cry now.

I just don't get it. CA got an A-. I assume that an A+ would be the total ban on guns

:(

Yea.. even though we got an A-, it really doesnt bother me THAT much. Most gun laws here are inconveniences.. 10 day wait, 1 gun a month, handgun safety certificates, etc.

Nothing's stopping me from going to the gun shop down the street right now and buying 50 SKS's.. other than the fact that the shop probably doesnt have 50 SKS's to sell.

The worst thing we have here is the AW Ban which I dont think will ever go away so there's no use in crying about it anymore. CCWs are hard to get, but arent completely impossible depending on the county.

Doh (in best Homer impression)

Good old Connecticut gets an oveall A-. I never thought doing well on a test would be so annoying.
