The end of the year is fast approaching. I'm making a list of the guns I would like (NEED) to get in the upcoming year. Is anyone else compiling a list of instruments of death to buy for 2006?

So far, I have it down to,

1. 2 CMP M1 Garands
(H&R Service Grades if the North Store still has them when I get there)

2. Jap type 99

3. Springfield MilSpec .45

I think those are good ones for next year. What have you been thinking about?

I've got my main guns -- for HD/SD, competition and target shooting. I'll probably get some backups. Another Ruger Mark III to backup my current Mark III Hunter, and for dryfire practice, and maybe another Glock 17 as backup. And maybe I need a backup for my Ruger 10/22. I won't need a backup for my shotgun. I hardly use that and it's mainly HD.

I've decided to definitely not buy another pistol, and instead just buy more ammo for my 1911 to practice, practice, practice with. Rifles, on the other hand, might be a different story. I've been dreaming of a stamped Arsenal with a PK-AS for a while now... But maybe I'll just settle and convert my Saiga .308 to PG.

I'm looking forward to the new toys from Fabrique Nationale.

I want to get one of those semi-auto F2000 bullpups. A short barreled P90 sounds like a total hoot too.

I'll be going antiqueing in the form of a Springfield 1903 and a Colt pocket hammerless. After that maybe an HK P9S or 2.

I plan on getting a pistol for the wife as well as hopefully an AR-15 or AK-47.

Honestly though, I haven't thought to much about it as a "get within X months" kinda thing.

Yes, I will copy and paste it :D :

Para ordance p14 limited
HK USP-T (I had one this year, but I had to sell it :( )
CZ-97B (I also had one of these, but I had to sell it :( )
Ruger gp100
HK Mark23
SA XD .45acp (if they make it and it fits my hand)
.306 rifle (unsure on model/company)
.50bmg rifle (possibly a styer, or AR)
Styer m9

There are some more I could add I am sure, but I can't think of them

Stuff that's been on my list for a while:

1. Ruger Blackhawk 50th Anniversary .357 magnum (I need a 2nd one)
2. S&W 642
3. A couple more CMP Garands -- one to restock and rebarrel in .308 as a shooter
4. CMP 1903 Springfield
5. Colt LE6921 (the semiauto version of the M4)

Stuff that I've been thinking I should get just 'cause some people (you know who) don't think I should be able to, and 'cause they have a relatively higher likelihood of getting "banned" by some misguided agency:

1. FN FiveseveN pistol
2. .50BMG rifle (maybe a Cobb, or a Barrett, though both would be nice....)

-Springfield 1911 GI
-Bersa Thunder .380
-Glock 19
-Mosin-Nagant M38
-Mossberg 500 or Remington 870
-Ruger 10/22
- CZ 52
-Makarov
-Begin stockpiling ammo.
I'm not sure how many I'll actually be able to get, but those are my goals.

Ammo
Training
CCW
Range time
More ammo
More range time

Then, I'll be getting a carry gun. Probably Springfield XD.

If I happen to find an extra $400 under a couch cushion then I'll be getting a 20ga SXS (Stevens 311) as well.

What a great thought just before Christmas hols... here's my wish list, in order;

  1. a .44 Colt Dragoon Cap & Ball revo (blame mec!)
  2. a southern gun .22 carbine (look! http://www.southern-gun.co.uk/rifle.php?itemid=105)
  3. an NAA .22 m/l revo if possible (hard to get in the UK)
  4. a SMLE no.4 or a no.5 Jungle Carbine (don't have a centrefire rifle yet)
on the accessories side;

  1. a fume extractor system for my lead melter (!)
  2. a conical bullet mold for .36
  3. a double cavity lee mold for my .31 pocket
  4. a holster for my Navy Colt

That should keep me busy till Dec 06! :D

Seasons greetings to all!

I used to have one of these. Add one to my list above, since as soon as I can get my hands on one again, it's coming HOME!!!

Well, I guess I need the following but not sure it'll be next year though...

- Ruger 10/22
- Springfield XD9 in 9mm
- Yugo SKS or two
- CZ P01

Greg

1. SA M1A Loaded or Scout
2. Another HK USP 45 Compact
3. FN SCAR (if we see them in '06, not likely)
4. 3 Ruger PT 24/7 .45's for discreet house BUGs
5. Dan Wesson CBOB Commander or SA Loaded Champion 1911
6. Remington 870 shotgun or Beretta 1201 FP (or both hehe)
7. CCW gun for the lil lady :D :D :D
8. M1 Carbine (I have no idea why lol)

9. Aimpoint for my FAL/M1A
10. XS Big Dot night sights for my USP Compact

Gonna be about $7000-$8500 in gun stuff I want this coming year...I need a raise.

I NEED more Colt 22 revolvers-Diamondbacks. I have just about everything I need otherwise. May pick up another centerfire rifle though if I see it for the right price and condition. For some reason, I am thinking 300 win mag Rem Model 700 or the walnut stocked Savage Model 114.

Wow!! :what: That's over $10,000 new.

I'm going small....

GP100 3"
SP101 2"

....the rest of my money (if any) goes to advancing what I already have.

But who knows... best laid plans of mice and men. :D

pardon my ignorance, but what do these acronyms stand for?

HD?
SD?

thanks,

I'm looking for a new duty weapon, so my wish list:

1) Springfield Operator (nice gun, expensive)
2) S&W 1911SC in stainless (nice gun, but no light rail)

Also want (need?) Remington 870 Max (everything I could want on a shotgun straight from the factory).

Just got a Para LTC (lw) in Regal black for early X-mas (ccw weapon), so I'm sure it's just that, a wish list.

Current thoughts: I'm re-organizing my pistols to conform with my post Katrina/NOLA evaluations. Big stuff out. Concealable stuff in.

In that light, I'll probably grab one from this list next year:

Springfield 1911 Comander Scandium with Horned Lizard grips. Extremely nice but ammo capacity is what it is for a single stack 1911.
or
Glock 38 - adding a stainless captured rod/recoil spring assembly and trintium night sights. I already have a G-37 plus ammo/mags. The only downside is that the G-38 will be at lease as blocky as my G-19 and I'm really trying to "slim" down my 45 cal carry for better concealment.
or
Kahr P45 - I'd like to get one in my hands before I decide yay/nay on this. I've also been reading some quality issues regarding Kahrs lately that would leave me kicking myself if I pick a lemon. But this choice has potential. Very slim - 45 cal punch.
or
Taurus 24/7 45ACP - have one already which I really like. Sized between the Glock 37 and the Glock 38. I'd like to run across the SA/DA trigger model and try it out. If the new trigger is really an improvement, I'll probably get it and/or trade out with my DAO model. (Could even trade the DAO in a deal for the Glock 38). Since the price of these are relatively low, I could see this being an "extra" pickup for the year.

In either event, I need to pick up one or two new holsters that work with the new purchase and any models that I already have. I'm thinking a Slide Guard High Noon Holster. Would prefer something leather for CCW.

Shotgun thoughts.
I'd like another pump shotgun - Remington 870 / Mossberg 500 primary choices but would look at a Charles Daly 18" "tactical" pump if the price was right. Doesn't have to be fancy - just needs to work.

Rifles
Always room for a 30-30 in the gunsafe. Traded one last year and perhaps should have kept it. Anyway....
The SU-16C folder is an option in light of Katrina philosophy. I'm already 5.56 oriented so this would fit right in.

Oh yeah. I got a list. Problem is I don't have anywhere near the cash to get these. We'll see though.

My list
1. SA Scout Squad
2. Aimpoint M3 for SA
3. Gen 2 or 3 night vision goggles
4. Mass compliant 1911 set up for USPCA \ IPSC
