Can it be done?
Buddy of mine has a Savage Axis II in a nice Boyd's laminate stock chambered in 243.
He asked me to sight it in while he is gone. I agreed (of course!).
My home range is 40-50yrds long. I can get a longer range if I need it, but that's what I have within walking distance of my house.
I don't know much about the 243 cartridge and what distances match others (say a 223 50yrd zero is real close to 200yrd zero) so I am looking for some data on what kind of offset I should be using to achieve a 200yrd zero with the rig.
Once I get it real close at 50yrds, I feel like hitting the 200yrd range is a more value add activity.
Any tips on sighting in the Axis II, info on Boyds laminate stocks, info on 243 cartridge would be appreciated!
Thanks!
