Merle, outstanding target, with surplus ammo to! that M1A is a keeper.
congrats to you also once again for a outstanding entry with the M1A. Are you ready for the next one?congrats to the winners -- and also all who entered!
Ok friends while there are a couple hours left in the day gonna call it now. Lots of great scoring and groups thanks to all who entered. I had a couple more Garands and a pre-ban M1A standard to show but it was becoming too many entries for me to enter lol and the scores for them were pretty much the same as my other entries.
Personal notes I take away from this, one is I need to practice standing more lol. Of the different rifles I entered that I have given a choice of one I'd choose a M1A. For me it feels the best, easy to load and charge (I'm a lefty shooter), the sights are the best for target shooting, and my M1A eats up any kind of ammo I have put in them without having to alter anything like the gas. While I haven't tried all types of AR-10 I feel pretty much the same about them as the M1A. For iron sights I think a AR-10 would be better served with M16A2 rear adjustable sight but most these days are geared more toward putting optics on them.
Congrats to
Class 1 standing iron sights, ford8nr using a HRA M1 Garand score 79
Class 3 rested iron sights, LRDGCO using a PTR-91 score 96-3X
Class 4 rested with optics, peels using a M1A NM score 100-9X
congrats to you also once again for a outstanding entry with the M1A. Are you ready for the next one?
Did you put a plug in that? I would score that as a 9.he paper is torn, but the actual bullet hole, seen in the cardboard backer, doesn't break the line
There is class 3 prone....shooting mat, sling, gun, iron sights.Hope i can get some time to go do this..i do have a request however. If you or someone else does this again, could you add an additional class?
Im sure there are at least some folks here who dont fall victom to the concrete gear holder and dont shoot off a bench or use bags, using only a sling for rifle support. Not bitching..just a request for next time
Sorry just seeing this, it is back in the back of the safe again, so for now just not gonna dig it out but from what I remember it is top ejecting but the cases to to fly to the right to 2 o clock area of the shooter two or three feet away, at least mine does@lionking - can you (or anyone else) please confirm that the SVT-40 is top ejecting? Can you provide pics of the ejector?
