AKs for everyone, AKs forever

We need this bill to pass. I'm looking at the part about allowing import of barrels. Look at the availability of AKs in the past ten years. They've been plentiful. And affordable. Well, for no reason i can think of, the BATFE had not been enforcing Bush Sr.'s barrel ban. Now they are. Now when we import an evil rifle, not only does the receiver have to be destroyed, but the barrel must be as well. I don't know what effect this will have. Prices will certainly go up now that someone has to make a new barrel to replace the "old" one. Do you still want to be able to go to any gun show and buy an AK for less than $500 + inflation tax? Do you want the same for your afterbears and gun-owners to come?

As for the contractor thing, this allows contractors doing such work as protecting nuclear plants to have NFA weapons

That is exactly why that provision is in there.

Actualy Blackwater had some legal issues with export laws regarding NFA items within the past couple years. NFA items were going back and forth to Iraq without going through the proper steps.
