Hello all, after purchasing my Marlin 795 today I ran into a slight problem. When I tried to buy some .22 LR ammo at Dick's Sporting Goods I was told I needed to be 21. After some research I now know that it's because of .22 pistols. Anyways, my question is, is there any way I can buy in store at the age of 20 if I can somehow prove it is for a rifle? If not, what are my options to obtain ammo? My parents are not very fond of me owning a gun so they are unwilling to help me out. If online sales are an option can anyone give me a site that isn't completely sold out? Thank you.

At the local wal-mart here they ask wether it is for a rifle (18) or pistol (21). Probably just a Dick's policy. Good luck finding some in stock.

yea that was the bigger problem, Academy, Walmart were out, Dick's was on its last 4 boxes, side note I'm in Texas if that changes anything. Thanks

what part of texas are you in? i saw some 100 round cci packs at my local walmart not a great deal but better than nothing

The reason it's called Dicks is because they are. You shouldn't have trouble buying anyplace else. Try your LGS or even WalMart. WM will ask what it's for, just say rifle and you should be fine. Good luck.
