I have a belt pouch for 44 special from desantis, the 3x3.

I see simplyrugged makes a "most versatile pouch" for either loose or speed stripped ammo.

Well, does anyone know of similar for 22 rimfire? It must be leather. I'd be fine with just a pouch that a quantity dumps into, or a pouch that has individual holes.

I've considered getting the "most versatile pouch" and making an insert for it out of wood, to hold 22s. I'd like to know of other options though.

This is for carry for hunting with a single six.

From time to time I still use the old 175 count Crossman pellet containers with the belt clips. I don’t think they have made them in a couple of decades but they are about the right size for ~50 rounds of .22.

This one is probably decent but certainly a bit larger.

There are lots of soft pellet pouches that would also work for .22’s.

I've long thought there was a hole in the market for pouches to carry loose .22's in. About 15yrs ago, I started using a civil war era type cap pouch like this one. It works pretty good but the double flap is a double edged sword.

Last year I made this one at the request of a long time customer. It's about 3.5" wide. It's more accessible.

I'm not real big on TripleK but they actually have a good one.

I had an unidentified .22 LR magazine,,,
I made a holder for it for when I used to do my "bunny walks" on a friends property.

I just made it to hold the magazine upside down,,,
Take a shot with my single-shot rifle,,,
Peel off a new round from the mag.

A friend admired it so I gifted it to him.

Thanks for the suggestions and ideas.

I don't think I want as large a pouch as what Craig shows.

I might get in the notion an make one.

I like a lot of the suggestions. I think they would be too bulky for me though.

Right now, I carry the 3x3 pouch at the 1:00 position. It's small enough it doesn't get in my way. I mean I can tuck it under my gut. A similar pouch for 22, would be exactly right.

A Civil War Musket cap pouch would work also. You can get them in brown, or black, and with the sheepskin on the underside of the cover you you won,t be losing any ammo.
Just Google it, and you can find them from lots of different places.

My solution is to use a 10/22 magazine pouch to hold a phenolic block cut to a standard 10 round magazine dimensions. I then drilled 3 parallel lines of holes with the center line 1/4 shallower than the outside ones. The cartridges in the center are used first. The outside lines have 4 holes and the center has 5. I made two that were sized for 22 magnum cartridges for my Super Single Six and Henry 22 mag lever action.

One consideration is that I might carry the gun for self defense. For brief periods, if I'm already wearing it, I might run to the store. I want a reload on my person.

For plinking, a lot of the suggestions are great. But to just top off after shooting at a squirrel, They seem a bit much.

I have concerns about accidental ignition when using a belt slide, if something hit a rim. Be a nasty flesh wound.

Are you aware of something like that happening? After the Civil War, there were a lot of rimfire conversions of percussion revolvers. Those cartridges were considerably larger (46 caliber?), but I don't remember reading that external impact firing was a known drawback. I suppose that wearing a belt with 30 loaded cartridge loops in a gunfight has a risk of being hit and lit.

I'm not aware of it. However, the local gun store had a 22 roll off the counter and hit just right and go off. I wasn't there at the time but I came in next day or two and they told me about it.
