Wanting to load the Hornady 75 gr BTHP any suggestions on powder? Plan on doing these on the progressive so powder is important. Was thinking TAC though I'm not sure what type of powder it is.

Looking for experience reloading this combination.

I've had good luck with Varget (aside from metering badly). Varget isn't the only good powder though.

I had very good luck with Varget on a single stage press but I don't want to try it in a progressive. That powder measure is going to want something that is flake.

I'd prefer to stay away from ball powders too if I can but I have to be realistic.

I was going to suggest H335 if you do not like BL-C(2) but both are spherical.

Never tried Tac with em, but I did use Varget. Dirty burning, of all things. Never really put it to the test for accuracy.

I really like Tac with 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. Accurate, clean, consistent over my chrono, and easy to meter. Tac is a ball powder.

Well, guess it's TAC or BL-C(2) if I go progressive. These are for semi auto so it's almost a no brainer that it's going on the progressive.

I load my 75 Hornady's with N140, that is a short grained powder. Shoots great out to 600 yards. I load on a Dillion 550B.

I've loaded over 15,000 rounds of Hornady 75gr HPBT with 23.0 to 23.5 of 2460. Thru a match barrel, the 23.0 gr is about .5 " at 100 yards. The 23.5 was about .75".

2460 meters very consistently through a Dillon powder measure. Out of 25 throws, on 2-3 throws were off by .1grain. The rest are all right on.

I've also used TAC for about 3000 rounds. Doesn't meter as well. Our of 25 throws, 5-8 throws will be off by .1 grains. Another 1-2 will be off by .2 grains.
