22LR-How many have a revived interest?

I get a revived interest every time I shoot one of mine. I have never really tired of shooting .22s.

Fun sums it all up. And yet a .22, when properly used, can be effective for a variety of purposes. IMO everyone should have at least one .22 rifle and one .22 handgun. Comparatively cheap ammo means that there is no excuse for not getting plenty of practice in.

Most of my guns are .22s. I've always liked plinking with them. Off the top of my head, I think I have
77/22,
10/22,
single six,
P22,
Beretta 948,
Hi-Standard,
and a Ciener 1911 conversion kit.

Whatever else I shoot, a .22 rifle always goes to the range, too. I've picked up a number of .22 rifle over a long time, mostly from CMP. Winchester 52D and Remington 40-x are a couple of my favorites. I just wouldn't want to lug them very far :)

Have been considering a "higher grade" .22 recently---something along the lines of a Smith revolver--Marlin 39A---or a T/C Classic.

Trade off my 10/22's and get one nice one that I can afford to shoot.

The .22 is the most fun for me, I go through 500-750 rounds per range session, with my 10/22 and MKIII. I also have a few other .22 rifles, and revolvers. A great way to shoot, and not break the bank.

Never lost interest in the .22. Rem 541T, CZ 452, custom 10/22, Buckmark, Single Six ... even have a fairly rare SP101 in .22LR. Great for targets, plinking, squirrel hunting, and introducing new shooters to the game.

Never lost interest. Take one to the range each time I go. Nice way to end up a session. Favorite is a 1948 vintage Remington 512 I was given for 12th birthday. Put a Weaver G-6 scope on it in 1950. Likes Blazer as well as Ely Tenex.

I recently sold one of my larger caliber, seldom-used handguns to fund purchase of a S&W 617, 10-shot revolver and a used (sturdy) Ruger 24/45. I'm enjoying the lower price of ammo though I have a feeling I'm also shooting more rounds per trip.

My M1 or my FAL is a lot more fun, but I have to drive 45 minutes to shoot them, and pay a lot more per shot.

I've owned a Ruger 10/22 for over 25 years, now, but haven't shot it too much. However, I've added an extended mag release, swivels and a GI web sling, and a bolt release, and I'm soon going to be adding Tech Sights. I'm setting it up as a "trainer" for my M1. Besides, I have a 25 meter range set up right outside my back door.

I've been looking for a decent 22 revolver to go along w/ my Ruger Standard Model .... used to be you could find guns in the local Penny Saver or at the local barbershop ... as it is I've got my Nylon 66 and an old Remington that can only handle shorts ...

Ammo prices are the reason I'm keeping my handguns 9mm.

I've heard that GSG is working on a .22LR G36 clone, if not for ammo prices I'm not sure I'd be so interested.

Well, I just picked up a CZ 452 Lux, and have my eye on a Browning Buckmark pistol, so yeah, rimfire is definitely alive and well for me.

Boring? Feh. Report and recoil do not a fun round make.

I've said several times that I wasnt going to buy a new Ciener for my dedicated-rimfire AMT frame. I will not buy a new ciener... I will not buy a new ciener...

Several things went wrong. To start with, I wanted the AA conversion. Well, I couldnt find any. Midway has been out of stock (no backorder) since I decided to rebuild my AMT frame into a dedicated rimfire. Then I decided I might get the marvel with the threaded bbl in case I get a can. Shortly after that, I ran out of money. I'll skip the rant about my lady's spending habits. Granted, I still had money, but not enough to blow on the "cheap" marvel.

So I'm going through what needs paid before my next payday, and realize I need to dip into savings. If I'm gonna dip into savings, I'm gonna have something to show for it.

My 'smith finished my frame recently, so I broke down and ordered the ciener. Got the frame yesterday, the ciener should be here friday.

I'm going to own a $500+ AMT Hardballer. That's over twice what I paid for it to begin with, although the $500+ figure does include the $200 purchase.

On a bright note, the trigger is great, especially considering the unkown origin of the sear and hammer (take outs), its got a little more take up than I like but I can fix that. I'll have a dedicated rimfire 1911, and, despite the fact that the frame, trigger, and mag catch are all that's left of the pistol I bought, I'll still own, and use, my first gun. And when my daughter is old enough, she'll learn to shoot with the "same" pistol I did. Even if it didnt pay for itself several times before she learned to shoot, that would make it worth it IMO.

Now to get started on my rimfire AR...

I guess I wanted to feel a little more recoil when I go shooting, ".22 just 'ain't macho enough!" But now with ammo prices where they are at, and with my newly acquired supressor and Walther P22, I'm starting to see a new side of the .22LR. I just ordered a Spikes upper in .22LR to go on an AR pistol lower. Eventually I'll SBR my AR rifle and use it on that, but until the paperwork clears, I can blast away in pistol mode.

I never lost interest in .22s. Most times I hit the range there will be at least one in my kit.

My CZ Kadet Kit .22 conversion comes with me on every range trip along with the CZ-75B. In addition to that I have these .22's to play with:

Ruger 10/22 highly modified
Winchester M69A bolt action "repeater"
Ruger 22/45
Ruger MKII 5.5 bull
Ruger MK II 50th Anniversary
Benelli MP95E "Atlanta"

Trying to keep my interest up with the .22's. Cost of ammo is going through the roof tho, $50/$60 for a brick of the practice ammo and the good stuff $180 a brick. Do most of my plinking with reloads and my own cast bullets. I wish one of the U.S. companies would get off their duff and come up with an accurate .22 rd.

ive never lost intrest in .22 shooting. every time i go to the range i have my marlin M60 and beretta M948 psitol. i love shooting .22's they are accurate, cheap, and they are great tool to introduce family into shooting. ie my dad, wife, and niece.

Really enjoy going out to the range with my 11yo daughter and having some quality range time with her. I am not sure which is more enjoyable, watching her face light up as she burns through another mag or me burning through another mag!

I'm going to try it again. I lost interest in the 22. I have a couple nice 10-22 rifles. A Ruger 22/45 with bull barrel and a H&R 922 revolver but I haven't shot any of them for over a year. I was recently thinking of selling the whole lot of them...
