So I been going to wally world for some time and i usually check the ammo to see if they have anything i can use. I find it predictable but unfortunate that I can find allot of .223 UMC, always 40 S&W, and even sometimes 9mm but they are now sold out of .22lr. ALL THE TIME! This sucks I am addicted to my rimefires and I guess now everyone else is too. I try and stay away from the big stores, ie cabelas, bass pro, etc fro .22lr but they are the only ones who have it now.:scrutiny:

Same where I live. Both wal-marts near where I live only have .22 shorts.
I used to buy 36 shorts at Walmart before I gained weight! Sorry, just couldn't resist!:neener:

Are there any small non chain gunshops where you fellas live? Here there are still hardware stores that sell ammo. Go into the chainstores 100 times and you're still a stranger, go in and spend 10 bucks a week in the small guys places and in a month you're sitting down drinking coffee and bulling about guns.

yah there is the gun shop I buy most my guns at. they just want way too much for their ammo. For instance, 9mm UMC 50 rnd box walmart-12.49, cabelas-14.99 local shops-19.99. its like that across the board they want 25.99 for fed bulk .22lr at my local shop, Its 15.87 or so at walmart. I know what your talking about small shops and bsing about guns and thats cool but im the guy who is in and out, minimal talk. On top of that some of the guys, and girls at local shops here are know-it-alls and i dont fair well with that.

hmm I never buy 22lr online, but I do buyout walmart whenever I get a chance.

I guess I am the problem not the solution. But I wont be runnin out of ammo anytime soon like I did last year.

The few times in the last year I have seen .22 lr at Walmart, I couldn't get anyone to sell it to me. Funny how Obama has made the stuff so hard to come by. I had 10K of the CCI Blaser on backorder since March of last year with Sportmans Guide. They finally delivered it last month. Fortunately they still sold it to me at the March price!! So I'm set for now.

I still check the three nearby Walmarts, but it's more miss than hit when it comes to finding any bulk pack .22s, either Federal or Winchester. Whenever they do get some in, it's usually just one or two cases, and it's gone in rather short order. At least they still limit how many you can buy with each trip.

It's been awhile since I bought ammo at a discount store, but I remember going to K-Mart once for .22s. They had bricks that were intended to be broken up to sell boxes of 50 so they were marked with the per-box price ($1.50?). The dumb clerk didn't know that bricks could be broken up so he charged me the single box price for the whole brick! :D

I'm sorry I didn't buy more than the 3 I grabbed, but I didn't want to call attention to what was happening.

I haven't seen any .22 ammo at any of the WallyWorlds I frequent in the state for months and months now. I routinely check three different stores in different parts of the state, and all of them are belly-up when it comes to .22s, either bulk or Mini-mags. The last time I saw any at a Walmart store, now that I think about it, was two Christmases ago.

Well i went today and found some. It was Remington Thunderbolts, dirty little buggers. I still bought 10 boxes of it, for 1.95 a pack. That will keep me busy for a while.:D

Walmart has been hit or miss. I do find bulk packs occasionally and CCI LR's. But the Federal stuff is hard to find and sells quickly when they stock it. Remington 22 ammo last longer, but it gets bought too and then they complain about it. I'm not going to run out anytime soon, but I do routinely check the Sporting Goods Department when I am in Walmart for 22 ammo.

My walmart usually does have 22 ammo, but they are almost always out of Federal bulk packs. I just wasted my money of some crappy Winchester bulk last time

Every other kind of 22 ammo I try just flat sucks. Lots of duds. Of course most of the guns I shoot are 50 years old, but Federal runs and fires just fine and everything else creates problems.

It's a trade off, the small shops don't buy the ammo a truckload at a time so their prices start higher than the retail price @ Wally world. The Know it Alls do get on my nerves too, so I avoid their shops...seems like they're so insecure they have to spout anything, the scary part is they actually believe what they're saying. Brrrrr.

I have not seen any Fed bulk in Wm for months. I finally found some .22LR in WM last week. THunderbolts. I got a couple boxes.
