I populate my spreadsheet with load data from published sources, usually Hodgdon online, but when I recently looked to see what they had, I couldn’t find the loads that were in my spreadsheet. Note to self, that’s another piece of valuable information, logging the source, and, why books are valuable.
I’ll usually print the data, and I have it for the .243 108grain, but can’t find the 85 grain sheet. Arrrggggggg. And that was years ago!
It was around 2018 I started this, and have data for SIE HPBT, and BAR TSX, for various powders - 4895, 4166, Varget, 4350, and 4831SC.
I called Hodgdon and they said they didn’t have data for the 85 grain SIE HPBT, but to use the 90 grain data, but that doesn’t match what I have in the spreadsheet.

The Hornady book doesn’t list IMR4350
The Speer book shows a max 43.0gr at 3017
The Nosler book shows a max 42.5 at 3224

The reason I wanted to revisit this is the node I want to be in is at:

IMR4350 2.650”, 42.2gr

And the “published” data indicates the max V at that load is 3000. I chrono at 3121, which is a tad over. There are no obvious pressure signs, and the Hodgdon rep said it should be just fine.
I was curious as to what others here might have to offer.

@243winxb , Thanks! That confirms the load data in my spreadsheet but I’m positive I pulled it from Hodgons website at the time. I was hunting down a Sierra manual as it’s one of the ones I don’t have. Appreciate the response.

I was going to look in to IMR 4064 as that’s also purported to be good for this weight bullet, but seeing the N140 that may be an alternative.

Might try loadbooks in .243 something like one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3953351218...WKBW8A&hash=item5c0bcf3b91:g:QLQAAOSwKKhhjSFN

I have zero doubt you can get n140 about 20 dollars cheaper on the pound for testing. Sportsman's was 49.99 for n140 and 74 on imr powders
