I was just wondering would it be possible to build a 25-35 win off of a 30-30 single shot, such as a h&r handi rifle or even a pedersoli remington rolling block. As im thinking all it would require is a new barrel. Has anybody done this? or how about even building one off of a 30-30 lever gun plenty of those around.

Yes, it would be possible.
Yes, it would be very expensive.

I'm not even sure where, or if, you can even find cases for it.
Or a chamber reamer, short of having a custom reamer made.

And just why you would want one is open to question.
It was pretty much a failure as a black powder target cartridge.

And anything that obsolete black-powder round can do, the 25-20 WCF can probably do as well or better with smokeless powder.

.25-35 WCF is a smokeless round. It was introduced in 1895 along with the .30-30, as the first two American smokeless sporting cartridges. Cases can be made by necking down .30-30 brass, but factory .25-35 cases may be available.

25-35 Brass and ammo is standard production at Winchester. I had a 38-55 built up on a modern angle eject 30-30 action, no reason it couldn't be done for a 25-35. I only am into it a little over $500.00 and that was with a 1/2 round/octagon 26" barrel and tang sights.

Might be cheaper to just go with .257 roberts, about the same as the 25-35.

Oh! That 25-35!

Somehow, I was thinking of an old straight-wall target round that belly flopped about a 100 years ago!
But that wasn't even right either.

I must have had a "Senior Moment" when I posted that reply.

Or else it was caused by my wife nagging at me to get off my can and go mow the yard while I was typing!

Sellier & Bellot currently makes 25-25 WCF ammo under the metric designation 6.5x52R. I found that out when I bought some by accident a while back thinking it was 22 Savage high-power (5.6x52R, lol), which they also make.
