Was shown a old .25 caliber rimfire at the range tonight, owner says
ammo is just flat no longer available anywhere.
Does anyone have a source? It would be cool to find him a few
rounds for it.
Thanks
Dave

I don't know if it's loaded in Canada or not, but they do make limited runs of 32 rimfire now and then.

If I recall correctly, I read a while back that this ammunition sells for around $3 to $4 a round (obviously to collectors).

.25 Stevens is obsolete, not even the Brazilians produce the stuff any longer.

I have but one partial box of Remington made .25 Stevens and I doubt the rounds would even fire now.

The 25 Stevens was a casualty of WWII. Navy Arms offered some 32 rimfire years ago, but I've never seen any commercial loadings of 25 Stevens. Occasionally you'll find a few rounds at gun shows at collector prices.

Just remember the Canadian stuff seems more prone to misfires than the U.S. made stuff.

Even if only half fired that is still only 2 bucks a shot...a bargain today for that ammo. Most misfires can be rotated for another try and often they will work as the primer compound can be missing in part of the rim.
