If you do neck down 308 Win brass to 260, make sure that the case has clearance to expand in the rifle chamber. Some have had problems with thick case necks not having the clearance to expand, causing pressure problems. If with a fired case, a bullet does not drop in the neck, there may not be enough clearance. Some rifle chambers have tighter throats and case necks than others. My Ruger M77, must have been reamed with a sausage, as the case neck has plenty of room to expand. So, it depends on what reamer the maker used.

And, if you do reduce 308 Win brass to 260, anneal the case necks afterwards. If you don't, you will see case neck cracks in a couple of firings.

That is why many of us who shot 6.5-08 simply used .243 brass. Which was easy to expand the neck and was good to go. I used Lapua .243 brass, which is uniform and lasted several loadings. Lapua now makes .260 Rem brass, so there are no further complications.
