Posted in rifle country a few wks ago on my dream gun, 264 Win Mag. Model 70 Featherweight. This rifle has an incredibly short throat so I have to seat bullets fairly deep. May get my LGS to lengthen it...
Here are a few range results.

*Hornady brass
*RL-22
*CCI 250 primers.
From top to bottom:
140gr Sierra GameKings BTSP
140gr Nosler Accubond
130gr Sierra GameKings HPBT

Really happy with the HPBT's and Accubonds so far.

I'd be happy too.
The large amount of powder will help lengthen the throat over time.;)

I talked to a 264 Win Mag owner whose rifle keyholed round 700-800 rounds due to the lack of rifling in the tube. The throat will move out the more you shoot, I guarantee it!

Normally I would challenge three shot groups as being insufficient to prove accuracy, but since your barrel has such a short lifetime, I would limit load testing to the bare minimum. As long as you are zero'd you are good to go.

that's a barrel burner for sure. if you want to lengthen barrel life, you may want to find the lower accuracy node. deer don't need a 130 grain bullet @ 3100 fps, 2700 fps will do.

luck,

Haha... I agree. I prefer 5 shoot groups but as long as this one is zero'd with s load I know it shoots accurately I'm good to go. Have shot this load a couple times since with same result so I'm happy.

How many reloadings do you get for a case before the accuracy diminishes?
In this case the barrel life is a larger factor than case life, and in my experience, the neck split case head stretching/separating is more an issue to safety and functionality than accuracy.

I've always been enamored of a screaming 6.5 but I think I'd go with imr4350 or 4831, trying for the least powder to get the most velocity to keep that barrel alive the longest lol, I'd DEFINITELY be pleased with your results here @CptnAwesome

Not sure what I'm gonna get out of the 264, but I have 257 Wby Mag that's a screamer also. With Weatherby/Norma brass I can get about 5 loads. Accuracy never diminishes though, it becomes a matter of pending case failure at that point.

If you really are curious about hot-rodded 6.5 's, I can give you some real time data and numbers. Been down that road with 6.5-300WWH (6.5-300 Weatherby) and a 6.5-300 Win Mag without a belt using up to 32" barrels. Also have extensive data on the 6.5x55AI which is a sweet round and probably my favorite wildcat to play with.

The one I keep coming back to, no matter which detour I take, seems to always be the 6.5 leopard. :D
