I've got a enfield-2a1 I've had for several years with an issue I haven't resolved yet.
Happens about every 7th round out of ten, that the bolt will begin to push the round forward and somehow it gets pointed above the chamber and gets stuck. The bolt digs into the case, scrapes a little brass, I let it back, jiggle it loose, load and continue to fire.

I was thinking it was a magazine issue, like maybe the spring was a little weak and somehow it'd get started and then pushed down toward the rim of the round eventually pointing it diagonally until it got stuck.

Anyone have any ideas?

Check to see if it happens consistently when feeding from one side of the stack or t'other. Chances are it's specific to one side of the mag, and that the mag follower is positioning the rounds a hair too low on that side.

If you look at the follower, you see that it has two little stubs on its perimeter/front and back that are sticking UP and holding the follower down/away from the mag feed lips. Bending gently on these will allow you to tailor the degree to which the follower stands down from the lips.

Cool, huh? :)

How i fix mine.

My ishy is a little beat, and a little loose, but she never complains. when i have troubles with it loading a just adjust the mag. Sometimes the magazine gets tilted to far forward or back and all i have to do is recenter it with a good push or whack. Then it loads fine.
