Next week, I'm starting my initial search for a 9mm pistol. I'm going to my local range to test shoot 3 pistols. I'm wondering if my "requirements" for a 9mm would generate a list other than what I plan to shoot.
Currently, I'm looking at shooting Springfield XD, S&W M&P, and a Browning Hi Power. Truth be told, the Browning is out of my price range, but I'm still interested.
About me: I'm 6'2" and weigh 220. My hands are pretty big. I own a Glock21 and it fits my hands nicely. I love my Glock, but I don't want to just own Glocks, so please, no G19 recommendations. I want a 9mm for conceal carry purposes, but I don't want a subcompact because I want to be able to shoot comfortably at the range. I don't care if it's plastic or metal. My price range is between $500-700, though I might go higher is I find something that works really well for me.
Is there a different set of three that you would recommend for live fire comparison?
Thanks.
