Not on Poll

...

My choice of gun is not on your poll, but without doubt, with the guns you have listed, by all means, IMHO, CZ.

Enjoy whatever you wind-up with..

CZ75, Springfield XD and Glock19 - can't go wrong with any of the three at any price range over $400.

Yeah GF definatly wants an autoloader, I had been trying to talk her into a Taurus Ultralite in .38 special.

Also for clarification, she ain't no girly girl who can't even change her own tire. In fact between the two of us she's the only one who has dropped a deer before. Her father used to take her hunting, she's a good ol country girl:D

Get what fits instead of deciding before handling. You'll be much better off with something that points naturally for you. If it happens that each of you point something different then get what fits each of you.

Never decide before finding out if they point properly for you.

BTW, why the Armalite and the CZ? They are essntially the same grip angle and ergonomics, but the CZ is a proven design while the Armalite is a new unknown.

Somebody has to be the first to buy a gun and answer the unknown... I just threw it in there because I liked what I saw in Shotgun New's article on it this month.

Yeah, someone has to be the first to try new designs. But ... well, let the guys with money to burn & lotsa guns on hand already be the guinea pigs. You're looking for a defense gun, your only gun for awhile, and you're going to bet your life on it working right. So go with the tried & true ...

I just suggested this on another thread but I'll drop it in here especially because of price. If you are already looking at the M&P then you might consider the S&W SW9VE. This line is very Glock and inexpensive. My carry is in 40 and I have smaller hands that never liked the Glock grips. The trigger has a nicer break than the Glock (again its all in the eye of the beholder) and it breaks down too closely to not be called a Glock. But, hey - I needed something I could beat on and it takes a licking...The SW40E I got used on GB for less than $300 and the VE model for $325. I just took a look out on GB and there are several in 9 going for the same sort of prices. I remember my college days too well. Crackers and PB.

Has she held ANY of the handguns on your list?

I only ask because my wife tried unsuccessfully to rack the slide on many autopistols before she tried the Glock.
BINGO! Glock G19 in the bedroom.

Buying a handgun that she can't operate easily is at best a waste of money and at worst a liability in a stressful situation.

Good luck and stay safe!

Of the ones listed, I'd probably go for the Glock (reliability, capacity, resale value).

If you are serious about CCW, though, I'd look at the Kahr CW9. They are about $400 brand new here, and it is thinner/lighter (being a single-stack) than the Glock.

I have owned both. Currently own two Kahrs and zero Glocks.

You'd be doing yourself a disservice by not looking at sig, either the 229 or 239. They are ultra reliable and insanely accurate, probably more so than anything you have on that list. The will be slightly more expensive, but they are one of the few pistols where you actually get what you're paying more for.

Get the Glock 19. It's a no brainer. It is the best 9mm ever. I have one and love it. I've owned other pistols, but the Glock 19 is the best. I have to get another one soon.

While all the pistols you list are fine handguns, I'd choose a S&W 3913, sans luggage rack, over all of them. IMHO, it is the finest CCW produced. +1 on 3913

No matter what you choose Come to Hensleys Gun shop in Harrodsburg and save a bunch of money over Lexington prices . Worth the short drive for the savings
