3 9mm to test shoot?

I had a CZ-75B duo tone in .40S&W, so I can vouch for the CZ. I paid $349.00 new for it back about 5 years ago, which is less than what some of the used ones go for now, and the new ones are going for close to $500.00, so these are no longer cheap. I had a Sig P228 (of course I wish I still had it!), I now have a Sig P6/P225 that I paid $319.00 for about 6 months ago, and when I bought it the gun shop had 2 P225s at that price, and I picked the one that had a little less holster wear. I should have bought both! One of the nicest little shooters I've ever had fun with at the range!

A good used Sig P225, P239, or P228/9 is very hard to argue against; they shoot every type of good and not so good factory ammo you feed them, and they are as reliable as the day is long! skeeter_08

HK P30 is really nice, but the price is out of the range from the poster. How about Beretta 92FS?

Thanks for the ideas all.

I'm going to add a CZ to the mix. As for the H&K, I like the feel of the gun...I just think they're a little more than what I want to pay for what you get.

I'll be shooting them this upcoming weekend, so I'll report back then.

Thanks.

I still think you should consider a Glock 26. Not uncomfortable to shoot once you run a few rounds through it to get used to pinky dangling (or you can get the magazines with the extended bases).

A 26 is my current, and likely last, carry gun. I always have my eye out for something newer or better, but have yet to find something that is "better enough" to spend the money to retire the Glock.

Sig P229 Beretta F or FS or maybe a S&W 5904 if you can find one.My 229 is .40 but my Beretta and the S&W are both 9mm's I also have a P6 which I can't comment on as yet since I haven't had mine to the range yet.

I may have already mentioned this to you, but I almost bought a compact M&P 9mm not too long ago and had looked at the XD as well. The grip angle on both the M&P and XDs feel much better to me than the Glocks do. I really liked the XD but it seems very thick to me. The M&P seemed to feel more natural.

It came down to the fact that since my Bersa Firestorm Mini 9mm was pretty much the same size as the S&W and XD I decided to wait. I still may buy one but for now I am concentrating on long guns.

Ruger SR9 has my vote. I saw one at a local gun show for $409 brand new. I've seen them at gun shops for $417 or so give or take. One was like $415 I think. I've also seen them higher as there was one forsale in the local ad's a guy bought and was trying to resell for $450 but that's more than they are new.

These seem to be very promising guns.

If you want something cheaper maybe a Ruger P95 or P89 although not sure how cheap you can find that. They are both great guns. Not the prettiest but have a wonderful rep. of being very reliable guns.

The other one I'd consider is a Springfield XDm but do they come in 9mm? I know they come in a .40.

The SR9 would probably be my #1 choice though.
