Recent local match, 3-gun "franchise" or whatever it's called where a club conforms to their rules and submits scores to the national database if the shooter desired.
Anyway, when registering, there was only one Heavy option "the Heavies" rather than the usual choice between HMI and HMO (the latter of which was IMO screwed up last year when they decided you could use a 9mm handgun and semi-auto shotgun in HMO).
I asked the match director and he said it's unclear at this point but as far as he knows they're combining the divisions. He also said that they're changing the "scoring concession" and will now require the standard 2-hits anywhere or 1-hit center to neutralize paper.
I haven't been able to find anything saying that they're combining heavy metal optics and heavy metal irons... this link below has the rules for regional 3GN shoots (says current as of 5/11/14) and still has them as separate divisions, with the 1-hit-with-anything scoring concession for Heavy Metal Irons.
LMK if you find out anything to the contrary. I'm curious if they can manage to screw up the Heavy divisions any more than they already have.
