Yea, they don't want AP out there because when the blue helmets and/or B.O.'s Gestapo shows up they will have copious amounts of armored vehicles and body Armour. If your only throwing lead you may want to bend over and kiss your a** goodbye.

I read a 1964 issue of Guns & Ammo containing a letter to the editor that observed, among other things, that people shooting surplus AP at silhouettes should make doubley sure to take care as to what is behind their target. What struck me was how the actual issue of AP was not an issue at all. It opened my mind to the possibility that public ownership of AP wasn't inherently dangerous.

And hey, cheap bullets are cheap bullets!

I wouldn't go around presuming all M2 ammo is AP. M2 covered teh regular ball ammo, as well as black tip AP. If it isn't black tip, or marked AP, don't assume that it isn't regular ball ammo.

Just to make some of ya jealous, I bought several thousand pulled AP bullets for 2.5 cents apiece several years ago and still have about 3 50 cal. ammo cans full of just the bullets. They do shoot a lot better than the 147 gr or 150 gr. GI bullets. Some times they will out do match ammo for me. My M1 Garand loves em. :neener:
Bought them out of a Shotgun News classified ad a long time back. Not pull marks and most still have the black tips on them.
My father dragged a BAR around the South Pacific during his war and convinced me about using AP ammo.
