I have a winchester 30-06 and a friend was messing with it and the bolt came out. I can put the bolt back in but it will only go in so far, its getting caught on something, anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
On a Winchester 70 there is a bolt disengage that you press down to pull the bolt out. You probably pushed it down by accident. Look for a little lever to push down on top and to the rear of the receiver on the left side. That's what you use to remove the bolt for cleaning. Never clean from the muzzle. Only from the chamber.
i think the problem is the guns on fire but the red sign that shows safety isnt on is not sticking out, i guess its blocking the bolt frm going in and i can move the safety switch
