On the JCH M50's & 51's it says made in Belgium on the action and JC Higgins on the barrel.
Back then black oxide was a topic in our home town where my dad had his tool and die shop. He was not proud of the JC Higgins on the barrel and polished it off, left the 30-06 name and got it black oxide finished.
