Hi
Reloading for a Marlin U/L in 30-30 Win.Some of the literature recommends full length resizing the cases for every reloading.
Lee have a Collet neck sizing die in this calibre therefore I was wondering if anyone has simply neck sized 30-30 Win cases & been happy with the results.

Use Lee collet dies for other calibres & find they are good & extend the useful life of the cases.

Thanks
yamavira.

If they were shot in your rifle, only neck sizing needed, if not then full length resizing is needed...........

You will have to full-length size them sooner or later.

But probably sooner.

Lever-actions have a lot of spring in the lock-up, and the case shoulders will have to be pushed back where they came from.

Get a FL sizing die.
You can back it off slightly if you want to try partial neck sizing.

I don't really see that much of a drop in case life or accuracy between full length and neck resizing. Now I'm not a national match shooter but on a good day will shoot 1 MOA at 100 yards with my 308LR. I like full length resizing due to more reliable chambering.

In your lever gun is is simply a matter of experimentation. I agree with the other posters that you can only neck size if that works but eventually you will need to full length resize.

I haven't noticed much change in the case sizes with my 30-30. I was amazed that they didn't even grow enough to have to trim as I have not experienced that in a necked rifle cartridge before, but I am not loading to full strength on the powder charge either.
