where else? TN.
So, as usual, I was daydreaming about guns today and the thought of a 30 Carbine lever action drifted across my mind.

It'd be a weird and probably pointless venture to create one, but I wanted to see if anyone had ever tried. So I googled it and found this little creation...

It definitely wasn't what I was expecting to find when googling such a thing, but there it is: a 30 Carbine Lever Action AR.

Anyhow, I searched around to see if this had been discussed on THR before, but I didn't find anything. If for nothing else, I guess it's worth knowing about. I do think the lever is pretty interesting. It reminds me of the old Burgess pump actions in that it's cocked with the dominant hand.

Here's a link to the company who make them:

Why turn a semi into a lever, is it to get around some local gun law? Otherwise I'm not seeing the point.
I can't help but think of the old saying "just because you can doesn't mean you should"

Edit: But I have to admit, it is creative.

^^^ Yeah, I believe it's to get around some of the British laws. I've been told that they can only have semi-autos in 22 rimfire.

They seem to be quite proud of them judging by the price. Not something I would ever want but thanks for the post.

Semi-auto centerfire rifles are all but completely banned in the United Kingdom.
Well in that case I would have to give the guys/gals who design that an award for creative design. I like how they use the pistol grip as the lever.

I think that usually in the UK AR-15s are converted to straight-pull bolt action (like the rifle on their front page). Converting one to lever action, and in .30 Carbine no less, is certainly a unique solution.

"get around", 'comply' is the right term for it.

You aren't getting around the law, you are following it. That's like describing private sales as some kind of loophole, it isn't, and it makes it appear that someone, in this case Southern Gun and in the private sales case anyone who likes used guns or wants to sell one of their guns without getting hosed on the price is somehow doing something shady and barely legal.

It was a little OCD of me, but it's always going to be an uphill battle to keep people from the stigma of gun ownership and use, and a lot of times it comes across that shooters are in some way getting one over on the ATF.

looks like a finger pincher for the lever hand???

Edit to add: I just went to the website, didn't get to see it in action but I think I was wrong above.

I believe the company in question did the R&D for the design and are building in very small quantities for a tiny, highly restricted market. In other words, they're probably charging what they have to charge to keep the doors open and lights on at their business.
