The 30-o6 165gr Federal Fusion groups well out of my new M70 FW. How does it do on deer from 50-300 yards?

The Fusion is a good bullet. Put it where it needs to be and the deer is dead.

I use the 150 grain in my '06 and its done great at 150-210 yards on the pigs and deer I've used it on. No recovered bullets. Very accurate.

I've used the 180gr load with 24 inch barreled Remington 700. I hit a mule deer in the heart lung area from about 70 yards. The animal dropped instantly. The bullet expanded nicely. Most of one of it's lungs was blow out through the exit wound.

Shot a deer last week at 100yarsd with 140 grain 7-08. Center punched the shoulders, DRT and could eat right up to the hole!

failure to expand

I shot this ammo in my 25-06 for the first time. The ammo is very accurate, however I had one fail to expand. I shot two deer side by side at 165 yds. I was rested on a sturdy shooting rail and hit them both perfectly behind the shoulder and double lunged them. One dropped on the spot but the other ran. The one that dropped had a good exit hole and good internal damage. The one that ran made it about 500 yds and had no internal damage. It looked like I hot it with a fmj round. I probably just had a bad round, but I will not be using it again.
