300 PRC or 30 Nosler

1. I want a nice wood stock
2. I want to build it around a new old stock FN Mauser target action I recently acquired that has a magnum bolt face
3. I want to base it off a 30 cal bullet, no belted magnums
4. I want it to have a blued finish

I like everything about it except the wood stock, the bluing and the lack of a belt on the cartridge! Just kidding .... about the belt that is.

Seriously though, @Nature Boy, all of your rifles are extremely well executed and the same goes for your load development. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed rifle and following along as you work up loads for it. It's good to see another rifle with a locking bolt handle, certainly a non-negotiable feature for me on any hunting/tactical rifle.

I was going to suggest that you call Proof but didn't think that you'd want a CF barrel with a wood stock, it's not really a classic look. Your other FN has a CF barrel right?

IDK about classic, but the nosler customs get a bit of class going with their look, and they're cerakoting stainless steel, not sure if that thought fits in the blued/cf convo or not?

Nothing new. I'm still shopping for a barrel and haven't ordered one yet. I keep hoping that I'll find and avoid the 4 month lead time. I need to just go ahead and get it ordered.

I think it would look cool in the white with a stainless barrel and a maple stock. But blued and walnut is good to lol.

Id chrome or matte nickel the receiver if going white....but im paranoid about rust.

That would look an awful lot like a browning whiteg medallion which i like.
