Two threads on THR got me to thinking about a chamber adapter for my FR-7. Here is a link to a supplier: http://www.mcace.com/adapters.htm
Since the small-ring 1916 mauser action is dicey for using 7.62x51 NATO, and I feel that i'd be plain suicidal putting .308 Win in there, I was wondering about an adaptor that would transform the rifle into something more useful/safer for the shooter. The options are:
-7.62x39
-.30 carbine
-32 Short Colt, 32 Long, 32 H&R
-32 ACP
-30 Luger
So my questions:
1. Do you think this is a good idea?
(they are removable so no value lost)
2. Which option would you go for?
Currently the gun doesn't get much exercise, so i'd be creating purpose...i don't really have one in mind. Also, I realize that these options are all lower powered, but don't know all the specs on all of them - hence, i'm asking you!
Also, my mind is made up that the FR-7 cannot handle .308win; so don't try to argue that point here.
Thanks for your input! -desidog
