Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post the question.

Can anyone please tell me the actual length of a 35 Whelen neck? I don't have one, but am considering getting one. Some sources show its as .462" neck and others at .434".

Can anyone confirm which is correct?

Thanks

Page 125 in the link below shows it would be .462 inch:

http://saami.org/specifications_and_information/publications/download/Z299-4_ANSI-SAAMI_CFR.pdf

Both cartridge and chamber SAAMI specs are shown.

Tolerances of a given case from specs can change that a few thousandths. As long as the case mouths have at least .010" clearance to the chamber mouth when the case is fully into the chamber in its firing position, neck length can vary several thousandths without any consequences.

See link below. Depends on brass trim length. At brass maximum length , neck is .462" long.

The rifles chamber would be longer.
