357 Maximum Single Shot ?

I just wish hornady would make there 180 Single Shot Pistol bullet again. There are not a lot of bullets that really work well at the velocities the max is capable of

How expensive is it to ream the chamber? I've always been intrigued by this round. .357mag is my favorite round to shoot in handguns. I'm been wanting a Handi rifle in that round. Sounds like if I ream it to .357max I can still shoot magnum loads and get to indulge myself in max loadings as well.

I'm sure the brass is a bit tricky to find at times.

Starline is making .357 Maximum brass so it's easier to get.
There are two different styles of chambers for the Maximum. Most factory chambers have a throat area that is quite long. Bellm does a chamber (on Magnum barrels) that shortens this considerably; providing more support for the bullet and increasing accuracy.

4227 is another magnum powder that performs better with a tight roll crimp

you can always create a duplicate set of loads that are uncrimped and compare velocity and accuracy- that'd be a fun experiment.
