Hello, Buying some more ammo soon.

Cabelas has Sellior & Bellot (Czech made) 140gr FMJ at $204.99/1000rds

Sportsmans Guide (I am a member, get 5%discount) has Ultramax (where is this stuff made?) Remanufactured brass 125gr FMJ $170.97/1000rds including discount.

My local range will give me a 10% discount on ammo. They keep PMC in stock for the 357Sig caliber. I don't remember how much a box of 1000 is but definitely more than these prices.

I read a post on the Sig-forum someone ranking the 357Sig ammos, and they stated they refused to shoot the Sellior % Bellot (hard primers?)

I am reluctant to try names that I am not familiar with (Ultramax). PMC is a known name, and even Georgia Arms (still have some 900 rds Canned Heat).

I don't think I've ever shot 357 SIG ammo from Georgia Arms but their 9mm and 40 stuff is as good as anything else I've tried. I tend to get the Shear Power stuff though.

Never had a consistant problem with any S&B ammo and in the last three or four years, I've probably shot more S&B in 45ACP than any other ammo with the possible exception of 9mm Speer Gold Dots... Again, no 357 SIG, but no problems with 9mm, 40S&W or 45ACP.

Isn't the Ga Arms price less than either of those? Or, have you had a problem with them? I've shot, and still have, a BUNCH of 357 SIG Canned Heat; that's mostly what I shoot in that caliber.

I personally don't like the S&B - odd bullet wt, and dirtier than the others I've tried. No primer issues, tho. I have had good luck with Win White Box and Speer Lawman in 357 SIG. Have not shot much PMC.

Ultramax is located in SD, so I presume their ammo is made there. Ammoman has Federal American Eagle for $209/1000, which includes shipping, and it's also pretty good stuff.

Ive had problems with S&B hard primers in both my Steyr 357 and my glock 33.
i wont buy it. i will buy the other calibers but not the 357 Sig.

Spotsmansn Guide wqs recently selling Speer 125gr Gold Dots for less than $100 per case.
Of course they sold out quickly at that price but similar deals show up there fairly regularly.
I also shoot a lot of the GA Arms 357SIG but not the Canned Heat, the new manufacture ammo loaded with Gold Dots.
It's excellent .
Nothing against the Canned Heat reloads, but since GA Arms is local I can buy the new stuff over the counter and not have to figure shipping into the cost.
Also gives me a chance to return my brass for credit against my purchase.

I believe that is what I have (I paid $245 + shipping). I agree, it is excellent, and that is really why I have only shot 100 of the 1000 round shipment. Don't want to use it all up! The purpose of starting the thread here was to see how the other distributors and manufacturers measure up in the FMJ choices (each of the choices I mentioned in my first post were all FMJ).

treeprof - Yes, the Georgia Arms FMJ price is less, but I don't have any yet. I wrote in my first post that I still had 900 rds of the Canned Heat, and I may have been mistaken. I actually have the Gold Dot ($245/1000 rds). Georgia Arms sells their 125gr FMJ at $165/1000rds. Seems that everyone is pretty satisfied with this stuff for plinking, so probably will give it a try.

While I primarily shoot my own personal reloads, I have also shot quite a bit of the .357SIG Georgia Arms Canned Heat. I haven't had any problems with it.
