Good thing .357s also shoot .38s!

And there is a M65 ladysmith in that picture as well as GP100 and 686 and Security/Speed Six and SP101!

I am a big fan of revolvers, and shoot 38s most of the time. I also have a fleet of semi autos but find more and more that I enjoy and shoot better with my 38s. These are all Taurus that I have owned and shot for many years. Great guns, fun accurate, reliable. This should give Taurus bashers something to do!;)

I've noticed almost all Taurus bashers have issues with the polymer autos, and few bash the revolvers. Even the 1911's seem to get a pass. Taurus revolvers I would have no problem owning if I came up on a deal - except for the Judge that is. To be fair, I wouldn't own a Governor either. Nothing bad about either's mechanical function, just a goofy idea for a handgun IMO.

Ah the heavy barrel model 10.. such a fine looking revolver.

I think the only thing "wrong" with a 38 special is 158gr lead round nose bullets they were commonly loaded with, or worse yet the 130gr military fmj.

Compared to prewar pocket autos and ammunition the 'lowly' 38 was still a lot of gun.

Thanks to modern ammunition the 38 Special remains a 'serious' cartridge.

Somewhere in the middle of Cocked & Locked's 1st post, my heart did a little flippy-flop. Those are some gorgeous revolvers, sir. And you have a good eye for photography as well.

38 Special

My 1st ever purchase of a handgun was a S & W Model 19 with a 4 inch barrel. I bought it because it was a 357 that could also shoot 38 Specials.I can count on 1 hand the number of boxes of 357s that have been shot in this baby in over 30 years.I probably have shot more 38 special reloads from my revolver than all the rest of my handguns combined. I still enjoy shooting it with some nice soft hand loads. Really if a person looks at the balistics of modern +P loads-it really doesn't give up very much to a "Wonder 9 " and to me is a lot easier to control. It may be obsolete in some minds but to me it is still a great caliber that is easy to handload, fairly economical and still fun to shoot.

And combining that with relatively mild recoil means some "serious" lead can be put downrange quickly and accurately. Count me as a fan.

I see some other folks like to carry Nyclads as well.

Anyone have a good source? Can the bullets as components be had anywhere?
