I was looking on the sites for ammo for my .380acp,and I saw 2 types of ammo that I don't recognize. The firs was .380acpBVAC,and the other is called a safety round. Can anyone enlihgten me? Also, the site listed my normal round,.380acpjhp,95gr,at 950fps,but it also listed the same round at 1100fps.Is this a"hot load"? My "toy",is an old Femaru rt 37m,that I plink with, but I really enjoy it,so I don't want to run too hot of a round through it.Th anks for any help!

Yes, the high velocity load would be a "hotter" load but if it's still a SAAMI spec load it should be fine in your gun. BVAC stands for Bitteroot Valley Ammunition & Components, they are good quality but their remanufactured ammo is a little light. In your case it sounds like some softer shooting ammo would be great.

Thanks for the info! Now I can figure out what I want to shoot through my "toy".I'm currently shooting Remington 88gr.jhproundnose,but I want to try different type/loads,to find the one it performs best with.I think I'll stay away from the hotter loads, though, for safety's sake!Keep yer powder dry!
