.380 carry rounds

I don't have to carry a .380. I do carry a .380 and have not one single fear in the ability of the caliber or my capablities to place a round where it needs to go. So the round I happen to carry is Winchester PDX1.

Win. Ranger T is another good round. The precious metal rounds; Gold Dot, Golden Sabre, Silver Tip are all good carry rounds.

fmj hollow points just dont penetrate very well in 380. I tried Cor-bons 90gr hp,XTP's and Gold Dots in my ex-wife's 238 and was surprised how little penetration I got out of them especially the Cor-bon. Shot placement and fmj in 380 if I ever had to use one.

It's speer gold dot 90 grain in my lcp, although I'm considering switching to winchester pdx1 for possibly better penetration.

I've had good luck with testing (wet catalogs and water jugs) both Fiocchi Extrema XTP and Hornady Critical Defense. Fiocchi is much cheaper.

I agree with cfullgraf, FMJ in winter.

Thanks for posting Shadan7. It will take me a while to go thru all the info on your site but I look forward to it.

102gr Remington Golden Sabers. I've owned 2 different 380's and neither ever had a problem with them chambering and firing. Like 71Commander, I also handload mine.

Hornady Critical Defense.

Really only because a few people I trust said to use them.
