Trying to work up some loads for cast performance 250 gas check bullets. 2400 has been my powder of choice for years for 357 and 41 but not much data out there for the heavier bullets. Anyone got help in this?

I am getting really good results with a max load of AA#5 using a 210 gr. Lee tumble lube design out of a Ruger Blackhawk .41. It prints 1.25" groups at 25 yards (5 shots). Last weekend we shot about 100 rounds as fast as we could load and reset steel targets and there was no leading at all.

The AA load guide, V3.5, shows a max load with a 240 cast bullet using AA#5 as 11.3 gr, good for 1,289 fps out of a 10" barrel. They also show AA#7 max load with the same bullet at 13.2 gr. for 1,292 fps, and AA#9 at 15.6 gr. for 1,375 fps. With AA4100 they show a max of 20.7 gr. for 1,575 fps.

thanks for the info..but

I have the hogdon data but don't care for most of the powders listed for a 250 grn hard cast bullet.
Alliant doesn't list any loads faster than 1000 fps for any caliber due to leading issues.
Lasercast 215 grn run over 1200 fps with no issues and I get 1.25 inch groups out of my ransom rest at 50 yards.
There are 2400 loads listed for the 44 mag in a comperable bullet weight, but nothing for 41.
2400 is one of the best magnum powders out there and doesn't have the pressure spike issues that 110 and blue dot have. In my 357's I get faster velocities, less pressure and 2/3 of the recoil. Similar results so far with the 41.
Looking to take an elk this year and settled on the 250 grn hard cast. Tried the 265 from laser cast and bullets backed out in other cylinders due to recoil even with an extra heavy crimp. Cylinders are too short for this bullet. Recoil was stiff and didn't want to rattle my Model 57 apart. 250s seat at same depth but push further into case. The further in the case is why I am looking for published or confirmed load data.
Hoping someone else had come across some 2400 data, otherwise I will try li'gun. Any comments on lil'gun?

Some years back we did some testing with Unique, H-110 or Herco. Had some good results... 2400 is usually a good performer with heavier cast bullets in larger cases, I just wasn't a big fan of the muzzle flash for low light situations with some of the shorter barreled guns.. but that is just me.. It did get good accuracy and velocities.. All of our data was collected by shooting from a Ransom Rest and through a Chronograph.. We were getting moa and sub-moa groupings from outta the box Smiths. Velocities were strong enough where we were starting to experience some leading issues with gas checks and 16 to 20% Antimony.. may be a place to start..
