I recently bought a Perdersoli Replica 45-70 for fun shooting. It's next to impossible to find powder, but I happened to have some H335 from a few years ago which I plan to use with a 325 FTX. Problem is the Horn 8th ed says trim the case to 2.040 for this bullet in a trapdoor, but does not list H335, while the online Hodgdon data for 45-70 Trapdoor data lists a 325 FTX, with H335 trimmed to 2.100. I've already loaded a few rounds trimmed to 2.040. Question is, should I trim or not and can I safely shoot the ones already trimmed to 2.040? thanks for your response...
