I bought some winchester 45 185 grain fmj that are kinda like a simi wadcutter. They have a very thin jacket and mushroom very well .i guess they would be more cone shaped with a big flat point. Any way i was wondering about these as carry ammo. They feed vert well in my baby 1911. Any ise this stuff?

With me, I have no problems with HP in my 45. ANY FMJ I can find that runs well in a Sig .45 commander length I'd buy a ton of

My carry gun feeds hollowpoints just fine.i carry hornady in it. I also carry a clip of fmj in my pocket. I've just never seen a fmj mushroom like these . Ill see if i can post a pic.

Are these the white box ammo?

Definitely post some pics please. I'd like to see how those are mushrooming. What are you firing them into? I'm curious to see how a trunc-head FMJ can mushroom.

I have an alloy Officer's M1911 that I prefer 185 gr & 200gr because they are less punishing on my hands. As long as they reliably cycle, they should be fine. As long as you are hitting the target, pretty much any mainstream brand load should be fine for carry.
