45 ACP & their frames

I want to get a new 45acp but I want one that has a 10RD mag. My Kimber got ruined when somehow I loaded a double charge in it. I want to add Laser sights and all i've seen won't work on a polymer frame gun like my Kimber was. Does Kimber make a 45acp that has a 10RD mag that isn't on a polymer frame??? If they don't who wuld manke one that isn't on a polymere frame and holds 10RD?? I also have two 14RD mags left over from my Kimber If I go with another brand 45 that holds 10RD anny chance my 14RD mag will work or would I have just thrown that money away???

You can get extended 10-round magazines for single-stack 1911s. Wilson and CMC make them. They stick out of the bottom of the grip about an inch or so. That way you get the number of rounds you want, and you could just add a set of CTC laser grips really easily.

The only steel double-stack 1911s that I know of are Para-Ordnance, and based on my P14-45 I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. But some people do like them.

Springfield armory also offers a steel frame, double-stack gun in a few different configurations. CDNN had a great sale going on a fullsize model. Might want to check out their latest catalog.

I'll second that. CZ makes very fine weapons.

OTHOH...
The H&K USP45 uses a 10 round mag. IMHO the H&K is only marginally better than the CZ97 and to get that marginal improvement you'll have to spend $250 more than you would if you got the CZ.

NOTE: the marginally better for me is pure cosmetics. The H&K is just plain prettier than the CZ. The CZ is IMO just a skosh less reliable than the H&K(I really hate that threaded barrel bushing on the CZ) and is just as if not more accurate than the H&K.

The CZ97b is an excellent pistol.
I just bought one last month, and I can say it's prolly the most accurate double stack .45 pistol that can be had under $600 new.
Steel frame, target grade accuracy, and a good design biggie-sized from the CZ75b.
The grip is a bit large for smallish hands, but the gun is in a class by itself.
The H&K USP .45 is a polymer framed pistol, but is every bit as tough as the CZ97.
But because of the CZs utter lack of popularity, CT grips just aren't available for it. (The last time I checked.)

I believe the gun you're looking for is the SIGARMS 220ST.
CT grips are available for it. Great gun. Steel frame.
The problem is that you're limited to 8 rounds.

CT grips aren't available for the widebody PARAs.

So after all that, you're kinda stuck with a 10 round mag that sticks out of the bottom of a 1911 single stack piece.
The good thing is that you still have a lot of good guns to choose from.

So what's wrong with getting a USP .45 and putting a laser on the rail?
That's what they're for.
It's polymer, but it shoots like a steel framed gun.
Let me guess, it will mess up your draw?
If you're gaming with it, get a gaming holster.
