.45 Carbine recomendations for under $1,500

I had a Masterpiece arms 45acp carbine. It was very reliable, and I had no mechanical problems. They use common grease gun magazines, and if you get the side cocking model, mounting a red dot or scope is nice.
The thread pitch on the barrel is unusual (11/16x16) so you will probably need and adapter for most suppressors.

The only problem is those suckers are HEAVY! by itself, then you add 30 rounds of 45acp. I never weighed it but it had to be well over 10 pounds.
They also have a "machine gun" chamber to ensure reliability, but it tears up brass something fierce.

you will do well to find a .45acp firearm that will shoot better than the Marlin Camp .45acp loaded with 185 gr +P Remmy Golden Sabre.
one of those built to take the 185gr+P is a good shooting carbine. can't recollect at the informal 'money' shoots I've won w/mine.

IMO there is only one option if you want a heavy-weight .45ACP carbine, the Thompson. Always liked them...but every time i've fired (or just handled) one I felt the strong urge to hire a gunbearer. ;)

USC it is

Going to view and hopefully buy a used USC. Seller says only 200 round through and no blemishes. If it's true i'll have my 45 carbine which will eventually become an SBR UMP with an HK lower and another Grease Gun Mag lower. My local shop will sell them for $1500 new so if this doesnt pan out i may go that route but will have to wait longer to do the conversion.

I'll probably get booed for mentioning it but Hi Point makes some really inexpensive stuff and from all the reviews I have read people love most of them. I haven't seen a bad review yet, actually.
