Watch them toes - that .45 brass is hot!! :neener:

I voted for the Sig P220
I carried a W.German for a while but have since changed over to a P220 Carry SAS. I carry it in a Galco CON250H (same holster for a P228/P229).
The reason I carry a P220 is that their balance and fit is perfect for me, but that doesn't mean that it will be the same for you.
Good luck with your choice.

go with the XD45 compact, its a great all around gun with good accuracy. Its simply the best striker fired .45 ACP out there today, and if your used to 1911s, the grip safety feature will be familiar to you.

I carry mine IWB at about 4 o'clock, its pretty comfortable and I don't even notice it being there.

With the compact, you can't beat 10+1 for carry and 13+1 for the range or home defense. Sometimes I will carry mine with the extended magazine just to see what it feels like and it doesn't make it print on my clothing.

Kimber

My carry gun is the Kimber Ulta Carry 3" .45
Night sights, in a Galco paddle. Light weight, Accurate.
Flawless Function. Trust my life to it every day.
Rem. Gold Dots. shoot about or just over an inch at 18 paces.:)

I primarily carry a Ruger P345, with the manual safety. I like the gun but I don't shoot nearly as good with it as I do my XD9. So, I may eventually trade up to the XD45 compact. Or, I might save my money and buy a Sig. That Sig 220 looks like a sweet gun!

I used to have a USP Compact .45 and sold it. Foolish me.

Yesterday, I added to my Sigs (226 and 228) and if it passes my range test over the next few weeks, it will become my carry gun. Smart me.

I started with an XD-9 Sub-compact, then another XD-9 Sub-compact (New finish. I sweat alot in the summer. ;)), then an XD-40 Service and finally I found the perfect CCW for me... Can you guess... XD-45 Compact! ;)

I am partial to the XD platform, though. It fits me well, and I shoot it accordingly. Drop-in trigger kit, Dawson Precision tritium sights and a kydex IWB holster round out the carry package for me, although I am thinking of having the grip stippled or retextured.

I am now up to the four XDs already mentioned, plus an XD-9 Tactical and an XD-45 Tactical, all in various states of modification.
