What can you folks tell me about 45 Super conversion for a Smith 4506-1?
Bought one and I suspect it has already been converted. The recoil spring was so strong I could barely rack the slide with 2 hands. Only thing I have seen like that was working the slide on my old .357 Desert Eagle. Also extractor is very tight and beefy.
Firing pin spring was not beefy though. Kinda wimpy really. Does not look like the pin has been changed.
Any way to tell for sure it has actually been converted? I assume there are extra strong firing pins and springs out there if needed.
