This isn't a caliber effectiveness discussion, the OP isn't looking for a competition quality 1911, he is looking to spend about $700.

I'll let this thread runs a bit for any new/useful information...but I have a feeling we're getting toward the end of it's usefulness

Close it. I more wanted to know if a 9mm would run good in a 1911 platform and if RIA was a good deal.
