.45ACP Carbine

I'm not against the Mech Tech. I've got one. Just put 300 rounds through it yesterday. Why would I want another .45 ACP carbine? For the same reason I have three .44s, three .45s, three .357's, two 9mm, etc., etc. You get the idea.
I'm disappointed. So few guns, are you sure you don't need more?

I've been pretty happy with my Olympic Arms PCR-45. If you do get one of these, make sure to find some Dalphon modified GG mags.

What is the accuracy like with your PCR 45? Will it tolerate lead rounds and/or LSWC rounds or are you pretty much limited to firing jacketed or plated? Any feeding problems? That's one thing I'll give the Mech Tech Conversion credit for: I can shoot LRN all day with maximum loads and get absolutely no leading. At first, I had FTE problems but after about a 1000 rounds that's diminished to not being a problem at all. It doesn't not like 200 LSWC however and will FTE about 1 out of every 10 rounds. Lately, I've been shooting both 230 grain LRN and 185 grain JHP with maximum amounts of powder behind them and getting great accuracy with no excessive pressure signs.

Pete,
The factory is hoping to have the HI-POINT 45 carbine ready for release sometime around September 2004.

Thanks,

Pete,

Accuracy is good with the PCR-45 - basically I can put them wherever the red dot is pointing. I've never tried shooting lead or SWC out of the barrel - although I do reload 230g LRN for my 1911's. I got a deal on 4,000 230 FMJ .45's so I've been shooting them out of my PCR-45 and I haven't had any feed or ejectrion problems with them.

I played with a .45 caliber AR shorty once. It was a blow back unit that ran like a stripped ape with anything I fed it. Considering the ergonomics of the AR and the familiarity of the form, it wouldn't be a bad option.
Maybe an AWB Goes Away Gun with a flash suppressor and 4 position stock.
