I resize a lot of my brass for other calibers and i was wondering if anyone has ever resized 5.56 brass to fit .270 bullets? I know several people say I'm basically making a 6.8 SPC. I make my own 300 Ham'r brass and would like make something similar but with .277 bullets and still use my same BCG, just a different barrel.
Does anyone know where I can begin my search?

Thank you. I'll look them up and hopefully add a new round to my collection.

I have successfully necked .223 up to .257 in an effort to make a 256 win mag rimmless.

I used Forster high pressure case lube and ran the 223 case up into the 256 die. Do short incremental strokes until you get the die where you need it for correct shoulder placement.

223 top, 256 WMR sized bottom

223 left, trimmed and dummied 256 WMR right with a tiny 60 gr bullet.

The wolverine is a decent round as long as you accept the fact it's make for light .277 bullets. It makes a nice close range deer and varmint gun.
I would prefer the 300 Hammer if I was going with either.

That would be a perfect cast bullet cartridge for an AR.

I was trying to find a use for the 256 WM dies i had. But then i got a contender barrel in 255 WM. So my 25 cal AR cartridge grew, to a 257 roberts, shortened. Any case with a .473 base diameter can be used, trimmed, and run up into a shortened 257 roberts die. Uses a 458 socom bolt in the AR. Im getting ready to actually shorten the dies and the 257 Roberts chambered barrel that i already have. Then ill fit an AR barrel extension on it and install it on a home built/modified bolt action AR15 upper. Ane ive got a plethora of 25-06 brass and no 25-06.

L to R: 256 WM, 257 Short Bob with 100gr SP, 22-250 necked up to 25 with a 60gr bullet, factory 257 Roberts.

I neck 223 up to 30 cal for 300 hamr. Used lake city brass. Split 6 necks out of 1000. I did not anneal. I did trim most the neck off before I sized them.

I was on the fence about the hamr vs the wolverine. Went with hammer because lee made dies that were cheaper. Barrel was cheaper too.

I've got a bolt action 223 I've been thinking about rebarreling to a 25-45 sharps.
