Anyone else heard of this?

It's made by Guncrafter Industries. It's made in a standard 1911 configuration with "commonality of all conventional M1911 parts and accessory items except for those that are specific to the dimensions of a .50 cal. load"

Here is a link to the website,

this was the topic of a lot of discussion all over the various firearm forums last year after SHOT. Haven't heard anything else since. Never eaven heard of anyone buying or even seeing one.

A search didn't turn up anything obvious here at THR.

Aparently the two guys who put this company and gun together are former Wilson Combat guys.

I picked up a magazine called "The Complete Book Of The 1911" and there is an article about it. I was surprised that I didn't see anything about here at THR.

It isn't a magnum type round, the tester said it was comparable to 45acp hardball in recoil.

Part of the trick with searches is figuring out what to use as the search term. Try "guncrafter" for quite a bit of info here. ;)

Don't know how they do it, but for only a .05" increase in barrel diameter, that pipe sure looks BIG when looking down the wrong end...

Thanks BluesBear, I found all the threads last night.

Seems nobody has had a chance to shoot one.

Just a little pricey for most folks (me included) I suspect.

$3000 Novelty gun

Very much not worth it.
Unless your a millionaire
